Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA)

PRI has undertaken over twelve activities for CIDA. Two examples that concern technology diffusion and extension services, public policy for innovation in firms and for improved competitiveness are highlighted below.

 

Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)

PRI was involved with a series of work by the IDB in 1997 and 1998, in the review of its third generation projects in S&T operations to stimulate demand by private enterprise for innovation funds and services.

 

International Development Research Centre

PRI has undertaken over a dozen activities for Technology Diffusion and Innovation with the International Development Research Centre.

 

Industry Canada

PRI undertook a study for the Government of Canada in 2002 on the status of work in biotechnology in Canada that is most relevant for applications to food production, health, andbenvironment and biodiversity for selected developing countries in Asia and Latin America.

 

Organization of American States (OAS)

PRI worked with the OAS in joint activities supported by IDRC and Industry Canada, in 1996 and 1997 to analyse and report on the competitiveness and barriers to increased efficiency in the hotel and tourism sector in the Caribbean. PRI helped to analyze financially attractive options that can be taken up by firms with joint plans and financing with the industry association.

 

Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA)

PRI undertook an evaluation and review of all Sida supported research programs across all continents in 2006. This was as a part of a larger review of all Sida supported research mandated by the government of Sweden and commissioned by the Department for Evaluation and Internal Audit.

 

United Nations Educational,Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)

PRI has undertaken the Evaluation of UNESCO’s Strategic Program – Fostering Policies and Capacity-Building in Science, Technology and Innovation, completed in January 2010.

 

United Nations Development Program (UNDP)

PRI undertook several pieces of work for the UNDP during 2001 and 2005. Among them one was to develop a project to strengthen the services provided by national and regional business services centres for SMEs.
