Policy Research International (PRI) is a Canadian owned company, with offices in Ottawa.
PRI specialises in the activities of research, strategy, policy and program design, evaluation and implementation of projects in the thematic areas of economics, education, energy, environment, health, social policy and technology transfer. PRI has worked on these issues and problems in Canada and internationally for over twenty years.
Clients have included the Governments of Canada, Australia and New Zealand, CIDA, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the Commonwealth Secretariat, the International Energy Agency (IEA), Environment Canada, the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), and the Department for International Development (DFID) (UK). They also include many multilateral organizations such as the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Organisation of American States (OAS), the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank and other financial institutions; several agencies of the United Nations including UNDP, UNEP, UNESCAP, UNESCO, and UNIDO; a number of non-governmental organisations; and private firms.
As a small firm PRI's strengths lie in the involvement of senior staff in all projects, an ability to provide a very high level of expertise in core areas, meticulous attention to detail, and rigorous analytical capabilities. PRI's projects capitalise on the broad knowledge base, experience, and judgement of its consultants, its ability to integrate multidisciplinary skills, the firm's strategic and long term orientation, together with the network of global associates that PRI works with. For many projects that require additional specialisation and local presence, PRI often works in close cooperation and partnership with its network of partner organisations. PRI has access to associates in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe and works closely with them when the projects demand such cooperation.
All senior consultants with PRI have post graduate degrees and over 20 years of working experience in the areas of economics, policy analysis, business and strategic planning, organisational development, trade, and technology. PRI consultants have worked in a wide range of private, academic, government, and international organisations in North America and Europe, as well as a number of countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
